Ultimate Swim Raft Chair-Ski

The Chair-Ski was the second episode of the first season of Brojects.  It premiered on Cottage Life on April 3, 2014.

SynopsisEdit

According to official Brojects website, the synopsis reads, "Brothers Andrew and Kevin Buckles have always wanted to combine their two favourite activities at the cottage: water sports and relaxing on their deck chairs. The boys concoct yet another one-of-a-kind Brojects creation: the Chair-Ski – a deck chair on water-skis that can be towed at break-neck speeds with a motorboat. As always, Andrew wants to take it one step further and decides to add a jump, and as always, Kevin disapproves. Join the boys on as they embark on their wackiest (and wettest) adventure yet.""

SummaryEdit

In this epiosde, besides the main build of the Chair-Ski, Kevin and Andrew also build a homemade steam bender, and the Shot-Ski, a old downhill ski repurposed into a holder for mulitiple shot glasses. There is also an attempt to waterski using canoe paddles.

TriviaEdit

  • The scene where Andrew and the crew arrive at the hardware store only to find that it is closed on Sunday was very much real and not staged for the camera.
  • The pot used in the steam bending apparatus actually belongs to Andrew and Kevin's mom. They did not get her permission to use it. Because they needed to drill a hole into the lid, they purchased a similar-sized lid at a local thrift store. Because it was not a perfect fit, they had to use a counterweight borrowed from the crew's camera jib (crane), to keep the lid down.
  • The Chair-Ski sustained damage in its one and only run on the water. This is visible in Andrew's interview footage, where the damaged Chair-Ski can be seen in the background.
